“16 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.”
📖 Revelation 16:2-5 (NIV)
“2 The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.”
“3 The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died.”
“4 The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:”

you who are and who were;
John witnesses the seven angels pour out the final bowls of God’s wrath upon the earth. Each judgment reveals God’s perfect justice against persistent rebellion, yet many continue to reject Him. Even amid these final warnings, people refuse to repent. Revelation 16 reminds believers that God’s covenant remains secure, His justice is righteous, and His Redemption Plan through Jesus Christ will be completely fulfilled.

for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets,
and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.”
“7 And I heard the altar respond:
“Yes, Lord God Almighty,
true and just are your judgments.”
“8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9 They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.”
“10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony 11 and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.”
The first five angels pour out their bowls upon the earth.
Painful sores afflict those who bear the mark of the beast.
The seas, rivers, and springs become blood.
The sun scorches the earth with intense heat.
Darkness covers the kingdom of the beast.
Throughout these judgments, heaven declares that God’s ways are true and just.
Yet despite overwhelming evidence of God’s authority, people curse His name instead of turning to Him.
Twice John records the same heartbreaking truth:
“They refused to repent.”

“12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. 13 Then I saw three impure spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are demonic spirits that perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.”
15 “Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”
“16 Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.”
The Euphrates River is dried up as preparations are made for the final conflict.
John sees demonic spirits working through the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet to deceive the rulers of the earth.
They gather the nations for the great day of God Almighty.
In the middle of these events, Jesus gives a warning:
“Look, I come like a thief!”
Believers are called to remain spiritually awake, faithful, and prepared.

“17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. 21 From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds,[a] fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible”
The final angel pours out his bowl into the air.
A voice from God’s throne declares,
“It is done!”
Lightning, thunder, and the greatest earthquake in human history shake the earth.
Babylon is remembered before God, the cities collapse, islands disappear, mountains vanish, and enormous hailstones fall upon the earth.
Yet even after witnessing these final judgments, many continue to curse God rather than repent.
Persistent rebellion reveals the hardness of the human heart apart from God.
Revelation 16 demonstrates that God’s judgments are never unjust or arbitrary.
Every bowl is poured out according to His perfect righteousness.
Even while judgment reaches its completion, God’s covenant remains unchanged.
Those who belong to Jesus Christ are reminded that God faithfully fulfills every promise and that His Redemption Plan is moving toward its glorious conclusion.
God is perfectly just in all His judgments.
Persistent rejection of God hardens the human heart.
True repentance must come before judgment is complete.
Satan continues to deceive through counterfeit power.
Believers are called to remain spiritually alert.
Jesus Christ will return exactly as He has promised.
God’s authority is greater than every earthly kingdom.
God’s covenant remains secure.
God’s justice and mercy reveal His holy character.
God’s Redemption Plan will be fulfilled through Jesus Christ.
Revelation 16 reveals the completion of God’s righteous judgments upon a world that continually rejects His authority. Even after repeated warnings, many choose rebellion over repentance. Yet for those who trust in Jesus Christ, this chapter offers confidence rather than fear. God’s covenant has not failed, His justice is perfect, and His Redemption Plan is nearing its fulfillment. Believers are called to remain faithful, watchful, and steadfast, knowing that Christ’s victory is certain and His promises will never fail.
