“2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”Â

Described as two olive trees and two lampstands standing before the Lord, they faithfully call people to repentance.
God empowers them with miraculous signs, demonstrating that His authority is greater than the powers of the earth.

“7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.”
When the witnesses complete their testimony, the beast from the Abyss attacks and kills them.
Their bodies remain in the streets where the Lord was crucified.
People from every nation refuse them burial and openly celebrate their deaths, believing God’s witnesses have been defeated.
The world’s rejection of God’s truth reveals the depth of humanity’s rebellion.
📖 Revelation 11:11–14 (NIV)
“11 But after the three and a half days the breath[b] of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.”
“13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.”
“14 The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon.”
After three and a half days, God breathes life into the two witnesses.
They stand on their feet, and great fear comes upon those watching.
A voice from heaven calls,
“Come up here.”
They ascend into heaven in a cloud while their enemies look on.
A great earthquake follows, and many recognize God’s power.
The second woe has passed, and the third woe is about to come.

“15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
“The kingdom of the world has become

    and he will reign for ever and ever.”

The nations were angry,

The time has come for judging the dead,

The seventh angel sounds his trumpet.
Heaven proclaims:
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever.”
The twenty-four elders fall before God in worship.
They praise Him because His reign, His justice, and His promised kingdom have arrived.
God rewards His faithful servants and judges evil according to His perfect righteousness.

“19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.”
God’s heavenly temple is opened.
Within it appears the ark of His covenant.
Lightning, thunder, an earthquake, and hail announce His glorious presence.
The appearance of the ark reminds believers that God’s covenant has never failed.
His promises remain certain, and His Redemption Plan continues toward its complete fulfillment through Jesus Christ.
Revelation 11 demonstrates that opposition can never overcome God’s purposes.
Though His witnesses suffer, God vindicates them.
Though evil appears to triumph for a season, Christ’s eternal kingdom will prevail.
The appearance of the ark of the covenant reminds us that God always keeps His promises and faithfully fulfills His Redemption Plan.

Revelation 11 reminds us that God’s truth will always have faithful witnesses, even in times of great opposition. Though the world may reject God’s message, His purposes cannot be defeated. The resurrection of the two witnesses, the sounding of the seventh trumpet, and the appearance of the ark of the covenant all proclaim the same enduring truth: God’s kingdom will reign forever, His covenant will never fail, and His Redemption Plan through Jesus Christ will be fulfilled exactly as He has promised.
