After Jesus rose from the dead, His mission did not pause. The Risen Savior Continues Work, he continued teaching, strengthening, and preparing His followers for the work ahead. Acts 1:1–3 gives us a powerful glimpse into these final moments before His ascension, reminding us that the Resurrection was not the end but the beginning of the Church’s calling.
📖 “In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.” (Acts 1:1–3, NIV)
Luke begins Acts by reminding us that Jesus’ earthly ministry was only the beginning—He began to do and teach, and the mission continues through the Holy Spirit and the Church.
During the forty days after His resurrection:
Jesus proved He was alive, removing every doubt.
He instructed His chosen apostles, preparing them for global ministry.
He spoke about the Kingdom of God, grounding them in the purpose and message they would soon proclaim to the world.
This was a season of confirmation, teaching, and empowerment.
Faith is built on evidence. Jesus provided “many convincing proofs” to strengthen His followers.
