The resurrection is the turning point of all human history. He Is Risen the moment when death lost its power and eternal hope shattered the darkness. At the tomb, God revealed that His redemption plan, set in motion from the Fall, had now reached its triumphant fulfillment. What began with spiritual death in Eden now bursts into eternal life through Jesus Christ.
In Matthew 28:2–7, heaven steps into human history to declare the greatest message ever spoken: He is not here—He is risen.
📖 “There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven… His appearance was like lightning… The guards were so afraid that they shook and became like dead men.”
(Matthew 28:2–4, NIV)
📖 “The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus… He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples…’”
(Matthew 28:5–7, NIV)
These verses give us both the event and the announcement of the resurrection:
The violent earthquake and descending angel signal that God Himself has intervened.
The stone is rolled away—not to let Jesus out, but to let humanity see the truth.
The guards collapse in terror, powerless before the glory of God.
The angel declares the heart of the gospel:
“He is not here; He has risen.”
This is not a symbolic rising.
Not metaphorical.
Not spiritual only.
Jesus literally, physically conquered death—fulfilling His words and validating every promise.
The angel invites the women to Come and see, then commands them to Go and tell—the pattern for every believer’s faith today.
It proves Jesus Has God’s Authority.
Only God’s Authority can defeat death and step out of the grave by His own power.
It confirms every promise Jesus made.
He said He would rise—and He did.
It guarantees eternal life for all who believe.
Because He lives, death is no longer the final word.
It turns fear into mission.
The women came mourning but left proclaiming hope.
It marks the beginning of new creation.
The same God who breathed life into Adam now breathes eternal life into all who trust Christ.
Stand in the truth of the resurrection.
Your faith is not built on myth but on God’s undeniable power.
Reject fear and embrace faith.
The first words spoken after the resurrection were: “Do not be afraid.”
Share the good news.
Just as the women were sent, so are we—Christ is alive, and salvation is real.
Walk in newness of life.
The resurrection is not just an event; it is the power that transforms hearts today.
Matthew 28:2–7 invites us to witness the dawn of eternal hope.
The stone was rolled away not just from Jesus’ tomb, but from every human heart willing to believe.
