In His final hours before the cross, Jesus prepared His disciples for a difficult truth. Hated but Not Alone following Him would not always bring acceptance—it would often bring resistance. Yet in the face of rejection, He offered reassurance, purpose, and the promise of the Holy Spirit. John 15:18–27 is a powerful reminder that while the world may oppose those who follow Christ, believers are never abandoned.
📖 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first… But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’ When the Advocate comes… He will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.” (John 15:18–27, NIV)
Jesus reveals the tension between the Kingdom of God and the fallen world. The world rejected Him—not because of wrongdoing, but because His light exposed darkness and His truth confronted sin. As His followers walk in the same light, they often face the same hostility.
But Jesus does not leave His disciples powerless. He promises the Advocate—the Holy Spirit, who strengthens believers, comforts them, and gives them courage to testify boldly. Opposition becomes an opportunity for God’s glory to shine through His people.
