Some To Everlasting Life: Receive Your Allotted Inheritance

Daniel’s final vision, Some To Everlasting Life points beyond earthly kingdoms to God’s everlasting kingdom. He reveals the resurrection of the dead, the Book of Life, and the eternal inheritance awaiting those who remain faithful. Though prophecy speaks of future trials, it ends with hope, assuring believers that God’s covenant, redemption plan through Jesus Christ, and promise of everlasting life will never fail.

Obedience • God’s Covenant • Redemption Plan • Jesus Christ • Eternity • Prophecy • The Book of Life • Everlasting Life • Faithful Endurance

📖 Daniel 12:1 (NIV)

“12 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.

Everyone Written In The Book Will Be Delivered

📖 Daniel 12:2–4 (NIV)

“2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise[a] will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

Daniel’s final vision looks beyond earthly kingdoms to God’s ultimate victory.

At the appointed time, Michael, the great prince who protects God’s people, will arise during a time of distress unlike anything the world has ever experienced.

Yet God gives a wonderful promise.

Everyone whose name is found written in the Book will be delivered.

The prophecy then reveals the future resurrection.

Some will awake to everlasting life, while others will awaken to shame and everlasting contempt.

Those who are wise and who lead others to righteousness will shine forever like the stars of heaven.

Daniel was instructed to seal the prophecy until the time of the end, when God’s appointed plan would be fully revealed.

The Time Appointed By God – Some To Everlasting Life

📖 Daniel 12:5–8 (NIV)

“5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”

“7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time.[b] When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”

“8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”

Daniel then saw two heavenly beings standing on opposite sides of the river.

One asked how long it would be until these remarkable events would be fulfilled.

The heavenly messenger lifted both hands toward heaven and swore by the eternal God that everything would occur according to God’s appointed timetable.

Although Daniel heard the words, he admitted that he did not fully understand.

The messenger instructed him to go his way because the prophecy would remain sealed until the time of the end.

During that time many would be purified, refined, and made spotless through faith, while the wicked would continue in their rebellion.

God’s truth would become clear to those who faithfully seek Him.

Blessed Are Those Who Endure – Some To Everlasting Life

📖 Daniel 12:9–12 (NIV)

“9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.”

“11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.”

Specific prophetic time periods were given concerning the removal of the daily sacrifice and the abomination that causes desolation.

While many details remain part of God’s prophetic timetable, the central message is clear.

Blessed are those who faithfully endure to the end.

God promises His blessing to those who patiently trust Him, even through great trials and uncertainty.

The Lord’s timing is always perfect, and every prophecy will be fulfilled exactly as He has spoken.

Receive Your Allotted Inheritance – Some To Everlasting Life

📖 Daniel 12:13 (NIV)

“13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”

The Book of Daniel concludes with a deeply personal promise.

God tells Daniel to continue faithfully until the end of his earthly life.

He would rest from his labors, and then, at the end of the days, he would rise again to receive his allotted inheritance.

This final promise points beyond Daniel himself.

It points to every believer who remains faithful to God.

Death is not the end for God’s people.

Because of God’s redemption plan fulfilled through Jesus Christ, all who belong to Him will receive their eternal inheritance in His everlasting kingdom.

God’s Covenant Still Stands

From the beginning of Daniel’s captivity to his final vision, one truth remains unchanged:

God’s covenant never fails.

Empires rise and fall.

Kings come and go.

Prophecies unfold exactly as God declares.

Yet His promises remain certain.

The Book of Daniel continually points forward to God’s eternal kingdom established through Jesus Christ, where all whose names are written in the Book of Life will reign with Him forever.
