The Mystery of Christ Revealed

📖 Ephesians 3:3–6

“3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.”

“6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.”

Paul explains that he became a prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of the Gentiles, carrying the message God had entrusted to him. What had been hidden throughout previous generations was now revealed by the Holy Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.

The mystery of Christ is that through the gospel, Gentiles are now heirs together with Israel, members of one body, and sharers together in God’s promises through Jesus Christ. God’s covenant was never limited to one nation alone. From the beginning, His redemption plan looked forward to gathering people from every nation, tribe, and language into one family through faith in His Son.


The Boundless Riches of Christ – The Sake of You Gentiles

📖 Ephesians 3:7–13

“7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ,”

“9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.”

“10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”

“13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.”

Paul humbly describes himself as a servant of the gospel by God’s grace. Though considering himself the least of God’s people, he was entrusted with proclaiming the boundless riches of Christ to the Gentiles.

God’s wisdom, once hidden, is now displayed through His church according to His eternal purpose accomplished in Jesus Christ. Through Christ, believers may approach God with freedom and confidence because His redemption plan has removed the barrier created by sin.

Paul encourages believers not to become discouraged by suffering, reminding them that God’s eternal purposes continue to unfold even through difficult circumstances.


I Kneel Before the Father -The Sake of You Gentiles

📖 Ephesians 3:14–19

“14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,”

“18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

Paul responds to God’s grace with prayer.

He kneels before the Father, asking that believers be strengthened through the Holy Spirit in their inner being so that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith.

His prayer is not merely for knowledge, but for spiritual understanding. He desires believers to become rooted and established in love, able to comprehend the immeasurable dimensions of Christ’s love—its width, length, height, and depth.

The love of Christ surpasses human understanding, yet it fills those who faithfully trust Him with the fullness of God.


God Is Able to Do Immeasurably More -The Sake of You Gentiles

📖 Ephesians 3:20–21

“20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

Paul concludes with one of Scripture’s greatest declarations of confidence in God’s power.

Our heavenly Father is able to do immeasurably more than anything we ask or imagine according to His power working within His people.

The same God who established His covenant, fulfilled His promises through Jesus Christ, and revealed His redemption plan continues to work through every generation for His glory.

All praise belongs to Him forever through His church and through Christ Jesus.


God’s Covenant Still Stands

From generation to generation, God has faithfully carried out His eternal plan.

The mystery was hidden.

The Holy Spirit revealed it.

Jesus Christ fulfilled it.

The gospel united Jew and Gentile into one family.

God’s covenant continues through every believer who places their faith in Christ.

His redemption plan has always pointed toward one purpose: bringing people from every nation into eternal fellowship through His Son.
