The 11 B is the second half of in search for a king, As Daniel’s vision continues, God reveals that wars, deception, pride, and persecution will increase as history moves toward the appointed time of the end. Though rulers oppose God’s covenant and exalt themselves, none can escape His sovereign authority. Every kingdom will ultimately fall, but God’s redemption plan will stand forever through the everlasting reign of Jesus Christ.

📖 Daniel 11:25–26 (NIV)
“25 “With a large army he will stir up his strength and courage against the king of the South. The king of the South will wage war with a large and very powerful army, but he will not be able to stand because of the plots devised against him. 26 Those who eat from the king’s provisions will try to destroy him; his army will be swept away, and many will fall in battle. “

“27 The two kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will sit at the same table and lie to each other, but to no avail, because an end will still come at the appointed time. 28 The king of the North will return to his own country with great wealth, but his heart will be set against the holy covenant. He will take action against it and then return to his own country.”
“29 “At the appointed time he will invade the South again, but this time the outcome will be different from what it was before. 30 Ships of the western coastlands will oppose him, and he will lose heart. Then he will turn back and vent his fury against the holy covenant. He will return and show favor to those who forsake the holy covenant.”
The prophecy continues as the king of the North marches against the king of the South with a large and powerful army.
Although both kingdoms possessed great military strength, betrayal from within weakened the king of the South. His own trusted advisers turned against him, and many soldiers fell in battle.
The two kings later met together, speaking lies to one another while pretending to seek peace.
Yet their deception accomplished nothing.
God had already appointed the outcome.
The king of the North returned home with great wealth, but his heart was set against God’s holy covenant, revealing that earthly power often leads to spiritual rebellion.
📖 Daniel 11:31–35 (NIV)
“31 “His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation. 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.”
“33 “Those who are wise will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered. 34 When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them. 35 Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.”
At God’s appointed time another invasion followed.
When opposition forced the king of the North to retreat, his anger turned against God’s covenant and His people.
Only The temple was desecrated.
The daily sacrifices ceased.
A abomination that causes desolation was established.
Many abandoned God’s covenant through compromise and flattery.
Yet those who truly knew their God remained faithful.
The wise continued teaching others despite persecution, imprisonment, fire, and death.
Even when some stumbled, God used their suffering to refine, purify, and prepare His people for the appointed time.
Faithfulness is often strengthened through trials rather than comfort.
📖 Daniel 11:36–39 (NIV)
“36 “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place. 37 He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all.”
“38 Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses; a god unknown to his ancestors he will honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts. 39 He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price.[d]”
The prophecy then describes a ruler who exalts himself above every authority.
He speaks against the God of heaven and honors only military power and human strength.
His confidence rests in wealth, fortresses, and conquest instead of the Lord.
For a season he prospers because God’s appointed time has not yet been completed.
Yet even this powerful ruler remains under God’s sovereign authority.
No king can alter what the Lord has already determined.
Pride always stands in opposition to God and ultimately leads to destruction.
📖 Daniel 11:40–45 (NIV)
“40 “At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood. 41 He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand.”
“42 He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape. 43 He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Cushites[e] in submission. 44 But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.”
“45 He will pitch his royal tents between the seas at[f] the beautiful holy mountain. Yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.”
The prophecy moves toward the time of the end.
Nations once again gather for war.
Kingdoms rise against one another as armies sweep across many lands.
The Beautiful Land becomes part of the conflict while many nations fall before this final ruler.
Although his victories appear unstoppable, fear eventually overtakes him.
Disturbing reports cause him to launch one final campaign in great rage.
Yet despite all his military strength, wealth, and authority, he reaches his appointed end.
God alone determines the beginning and the end of every ruler.
Throughout Daniel’s vision, kingdoms continually rise and fall, but God’s covenant never changes.
Human rulers pursue power through war, deception, pride, and political alliances, yet none can stop God’s eternal redemption plan.
Every prophecy moves history toward the return of Jesus Christ, whose everlasting kingdom will replace every kingdom of this world forever.
God rules over every nation and every king.
Human betrayal never overcomes God’s sovereign plan.
God’s covenant remains secure through every generation.
Faithful believers often endure hardship before receiving victory.
Pride always leads to judgment.
Earthly kingdoms are temporary.
God’s timing is always perfect.
Jesus Christ will establish His everlasting kingdom.
God’s redemption plan cannot be stopped by war, politics, or human power.
Daniel’s prophecy reminds us that history is never controlled by kings, armies, or political alliances. Every battle, every kingdom, and every ruler remains under God’s sovereign authority. Those who oppose God’s covenant eventually fall, while those who remain faithful are refined and strengthened. The vision ultimately points beyond earthly kingdoms to Jesus Christ, whose eternal kingdom will bring perfect justice, everlasting peace, and complete fulfillment of God’s redemption plan.
