When God called Moses to speak before Pharaoh, Moses hesitated. God Equips the Called, he felt inadequate, unsure of his speaking ability, and fearful of failure. Yet in Exodus 4:10–12, God responds with a powerful reminder that ability comes not from ourselves, but from Him:
📖 “Moses said to the Lord, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.’ The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.’”
Moses questioned his ability, focusing on his weakness instead of God’s power. The Lord responded by reminding him that He is the Creator of every gift, ability, and voice. God does not call the equipped—He equips the called. This exchange highlights a profound truth: our sufficiency is found in God alone.
God is the source of ability – He gives us the strength, wisdom, and words needed for each task.
Weakness is no barrier – Our limitations become opportunities for God’s power to shine through us.
Calling comes with provision – When God sends us, He provides what we lack.
Dependence deepens faith – Trusting His equipping reminds us that the mission is His, not ours.
Trust God with your weaknesses – Instead of making excuses, offer your limitations to Him.
Step forward in obedience – Even if you feel unqualified, remember God equips as you go.
Seek His words and wisdom – Pray before conversations, trusting God to guide your speech.
Encourage others – Remind those who doubt themselves that God empowers the faithful.
Exodus 4:10–12 reassures us that God’s call is never greater than His provision. Just as He gave Moses the ability to speak, He equips each of us to fulfill the purpose He has placed before us.
