After His resurrection, Jesus met with Peter by the Sea of Galilee. Feed My Sheep, this encounter was more than a conversation—it was a restoration. Peter had denied Jesus three times before the crucifixion. Now, three times, Jesus reaffirmed Peter’s calling, showing grace, forgiveness, and purpose.
📖 “When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ he said, ‘you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my lambs.’… Again Jesus said, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He answered, ‘Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Take care of my sheep.’… The third time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ He said, ‘Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my sheep.’” (John 21:15–17, NIV)
Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Him, mirroring Peter’s three denials. Each affirmation reinstated Peter and entrusted him with a mission: to shepherd God’s people.
“Feed my lambs” – Care for the new believers and nurture their faith.
“Take care of my sheep” – Guide the mature, providing spiritual leadership.
“Feed my sheep” – Teach and protect the community of believers as a whole.

Restoration is possible. Jesus heals even after failure.
Love is the foundation of service. Ministry flows from our devotion to Christ.
Obedience is active. Love for Jesus is proven by caring for others.
Mission is continuous. Peter’s calling is a model for all believers: to serve and guide others in faith.
Reflect on how you respond to Jesus’ call in your life.
Seek forgiveness and restoration if you have fallen short.
Look for ways to nurture, guide, and serve fellow believers.
Pray for wisdom and love as you shepherd those entrusted to you.
Jesus’ repeated question and Peter’s restored commitment show us that love and obedience are inseparable. When we respond to Christ’s call, we participate in His mission to care for His people and expand His Kingdom.
✨ Let your life echo Peter’s example: love Jesus fully, serve faithfully, and feed His sheep.
