Doubt

Doubt: Presenting Doubts To GOD, Leads To Devine Peace And Understanding!

The Role of the Devil in Creating Doubt

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden”?’ The woman said to the serpent, ‘We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, “You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.”‘ ‘You will not certainly die,’ the serpent said to the woman. ‘For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’”

The serpent (Satan) creates doubt in Eve’s mind by questioning God’s command and suggesting an alternative interpretation. This passage highlights the devil’s tactic of using subtlety and deception to foster doubt and disobedience.

Wickedness and Doubt

Peter 5:8-9

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”

  • Peter warns believers to remain vigilant against the devil’s schemes. Resisting the devil and standing firm in faith are key to overcoming doubt and wickedness.

Seeking Wisdom and Understanding

James 1:5-6:

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”

God provides wisdom generously to those who seek it earnestly and believe.

Living Out Faith

James 2:17:

“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

Active faith is a living faith, strengthening belief through deeds.

Jesus Appears to Thomas

24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus[a]), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.

25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Seeking God through Prayer and Scripture

Prayer and immersing oneself in God’s Word are powerful tools for combating doubt.

Philippians 4:6-7:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Presenting doubts to God through prayer leads to divine peace that surpasses understanding.
