Connecting To God

Talk openly with God, praying and asking for solutions to problems you wouldn't tell your closest friends or relatives. God does not judge; God helps you find solutions and over time shows you the way.

Galatians 5:22-23:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

  • Living by the Spirit produces virtues that strengthen our spiritual connection with God.

Corinthians 6:17:

“But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.”

  • Unity with the Lord through the spirit emphasizes a profound spiritual bond with God.

Psalm 119:105:

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

  • God’s word provides guidance and direction, helping believers stay connected to His will.

  • Mark 1:35:

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

  • Jesus’ example of seeking solitude for prayer shows the importance of personal time with God.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
  • Trusting in God and submitting to His will are fundamental aspects of maintaining a close relationship with Him.
In the course of a busy and distracting day, it’s easy to feel like you are getting pulled in many directions. This can lead to additional stress and poor decisions. If you can finish your task, do so. If not, ask to excuse yourself, take a few minutes and go for a walk, and ask for God’s guidance, patience, and support for yourself and your teammates with their tasks.

Luke 10:38-42:

  • Martha and Mary, where Martha is distracted by the preparations and busy with tasks, while Mary sits at Jesus’ feet, listening to His teachings. Jesus commends Mary for choosing what is better, highlighting the importance of prioritizing time with God over worldly distractions.

    “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Trust In God

Isaiah 26:3:

  • “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

    • Trusting in God and keeping one’s mind focused on Him brings peace and stability.

 

Matthew 6:33:

  • “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

    • This emphasizes prioritizing God’s kingdom over worldly concerns.

Thessalonians 4:11-12

11 – “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,” 

  • Paul encourages believers to live peacefully and avoid unnecessary conflict or drama.

 

12 – “so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”

  • Emphasize the importance of a responsible, respectable, and independent lifestyle.
